Is it possible to connect both IDE&SATA hard drive in the same board? - best sata hard drive

I will be a 40 GB IDE hard disk dive about 5 years, I have recently my motherboard (Gigabyte P31-ES2L), which has two slots for IDE and SATA. Now I think when buying a hard disk of 250 GB SATA. Is it possible to run both on the same card as the master-slave architecture n get in touch?
